Created in 2017, the RF Connect platform is the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police’s (CACP) secure online portal for the Canadian policing community. It is a hub where national, provincial, regional, and local police and public safety representatives at all levels, in all regions, and with mutual interests, can assemble online to discuss issues, ask questions, find partners, link with mentors, and develop projects in a collaborative way.
A first for Canadian law enforcement, the portal was developed by the CACP Research Foundation as a shared resource to support best practices and professionalism in Canadian policing. It provides a useful body of knowledge and resources to help improve the management and administration of police services in Canada. This is where police and public safety professionals are invited to go to confer about police operations in general, not to discuss the detailed data or personal information related to specific cases or investigations.
The key objectives for the RF Connect portal are to:
CONNECT to SHARE : RF Connect is a professionnel network where you can interact with fellow police and public safety professionals who share your challenges, your interests and understand your reality.
CONNECT to USE : RF Connect is a resource centre where you can access existing policies, strategies, guidelines, messaging research, and other materials to support your operations and decision-making processes.
CONNECT to CREATE : RF Connect is a professional collaboration centre where you can generate new discussions, projects or initiatives in one secure, shared space.
RF Connect provides a secure forum to identify, discuss and address policing and public safety issues and concerns arising across the country, to minimize their impact as they emerge and before they spread across communities.
RF Connect is focused on maximizing resources. It allows subscribers to save time, effort and money by adopting or adapting existing documents, tools, policies, programs or practices developed by, or for, fellow police agencies, by public safety professionals, to meet the needs of their respective police agency. The CACP believes that by sharing our knowledge, experience and resources, we can reduce the duplication of efforts, increase efficiencies and expand the reach and impact of our projects, initiatives, results and lessons learned.
